Sam's Must Read AI Essay

AI visionary and OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman just published a new essay on the future of AI.

Here's my take on what he's predicting:

1) In the coming decades, we will achieve things that seemed like magic to past generations.

Rival Elon Musk consistently refers to 'technology as magic', and it's closer than ever.

2) AI will empower people to solve problems previously thought impossible, allowing for massive innovation and growth.

One area that excites me is robotics. Today, they're expensive, but tomorrow, they'll be ubiquitous.

3) The future of work will involve AI assistants—virtual experts in various fields—helping us accomplish more than ever.

- ChatGPT

- Siri

- Google Assistant

- Alexa

- Bixby

These AI assistants will look like a toys in the next decade.

4) Deep learning is at the core of this shift, and scaling AI will be essential to solving the world's biggest challenges.

More and more energy will be directed to compute infrastructure.

5) To make AI accessible, we will need a more excellent energy mix.

Former pure petro states like the UAE are already doing massive solar projects.

Oil, gas, nuclear, solar, and wind will all be needed!

6) The dawn of the Intelligence Age is upon us, and while there will be challenges, the potential for a brighter future is extraordinary.

Everything as we know it will change.

But the possibilities are endless.

7) AI will improve lives and redefine how we work, live, and innovate.

AI is about to accelerate that progress even more.
