North Star

It was my birthday yesterday.

Great time to reflect on how far I've come and where I'm going.

To say my career has had ups and downs is an understatement.

Getting my start in the Tech industry at Meizu before the company self destructed.

Joining OPPO at at time when Chinese globalization was about to lift-off was a seat on a rocketship.

Then joining a beloved brand in OnePlus just as it began to undertake a difficult transition.

To finally striking out on my own.

All of this ties back to what I call the concept of a 'North Star'.

Along the way, you always have to question and ask yourself what you could have done better.

But everything good that's come my way has come from being obsessed.

Especially now in the AI age, that will be more important than ever.

You have to anchor on the impact you want to create, not the salary or job title.

For me, that's Tech and empowering storytellers to help share innovation to everyone.

Always has been, always will be.

I've been obsessed forever.

Long before my career started, watching Bloomberg and reading TechCrunch.

Then even more so at the various Tech companies I've worked at.

And now still today, long after I've moved on to new things.
