Making A Product

I’m building products. I’ve Marketed them before, but never built them.
So I’m learning as I go.
There's two ways of thinking about product:
1) Human centered — designed for people, purposeful and solving a problem. Every aspect of the product relates to that problem. The result is that people want to own what he made.
2) Functionality centered — prioritizing the features and capabilities of the technology itself over the needs and experiences of the users, essentially designing for the technology rather than for people.
I think you can do both, but at some point you need to prioritize one over the other.
For me as someone new to building products, I prefer the approach of 2), as I need to listen to users.
They are helping me (in Slack) define the problem, what is needed and why.
They're also part of the journey, whereas in the future, if you're an established brand customer, 1) is way more important.
What do you think about building product? And what's your philosophy?
