Learn As You Go

Education isn't everything; especially in Marketing. Things change too fast.

Here's how I look at it with myself.

If I had to describe myself in bullet points:

- 8+ years of PR experience in the tech industry, in hardware/consumer tech.

- Proven track record of securing tier-1 media coverage

- Strong relationships with regional tech and business media

- Experience managing PR agencies and external partners

- Skilled written and verbal communication skills

- Experience with PR tools (e.g., Cision, media monitoring platforms)

And last but not least:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Masters in Computer Science.

In reality, more of a four year party plus a gap year.

But anyway, I did graduate!

I deliberately put my education at the bottom of my CV as:

a) It was a long time ago!

b) It only served as a foundation

It's common practice for CV's but I also adopt this approach when talking to customers or anyone about my past.

Everything I've learned has been practical via the work place; from bosses, colleagues, clients, customers and people at large.

Don't sweat education. Learn as you go.
