Watching a VC-backed founder raise another $100M while you’re bootstrapping.

Alright, stretching it a bit.

But seriously, sometimes it feels like 90% of the business and tech news cycle is about fundraising.

Another $50M round.

Another unicorn.

Another founder raising at a billion-dollar valuation.

Meanwhile, you’re trying to get your next 10 paying customers.

So how do you compete as a bootstrapped founder?

Double down on your strengths.

- Build in public
- Share your journey as a solo founder
- Talk directly to customers
- Move faster than companies with 100 employees
- Build a personal brand people actually care about
- Focus on revenue, not valuations

The interesting thing is that bootstrapped founders have something many VC-backed companies struggle to manufacture: authenticity.

In an era where AI makes building cheaper and audiences increasingly value authenticity, I think that’s becoming a real advantage.

PS - I've been to the Singapore F1 and yes, it's pretty much the same deal.
