Journalists used to be the gatekeepers. Now? Influencers are the new media.
Creators on YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn etc reach bigger audiences than most traditional outlets. They’re trusted. They’re personal. And for a lot of people, they’re the first stop before making a decision.
That’s not a knock on journalism, it’s just the new reality. People follow people.
For brands and startups, this changes the playbook. Getting covered isn’t just about TechCrunch anymore. It’s about who’s telling your story on camera, on X, on podcasts.
Influence is the new distribution.
