What I expected:
→ My cost of living dropped 60% (from HK)
→ My quality of life went up
→ I stopped caring about corporate status games
→ My network got more international
→ My timezone became an advantage (overlap with US + Asia)
What I didn't expect:
→ The founder community here is incredible
→ I work more hours but get more done
If you're location-independent, similar cities like Taipei, Kuala Lumpur etc are well worth a look too.
