Strategy

Strategy will be the main focus for Marketers moving forward in the AI era.

What do I mean by that?

Take my field, PR.

I don't believe the entire PR workflow will ever be fully automated.

PR isn't like paid media channels, e.g., online ads, that are almost *already* automated with AI.

With PR, a lot of the conversation/negotiation pieces still retain a human element.

And yet, more and more is being automated and generated with AI.

Just think what has changed in PR with AI in the last couple of years alone:

- Copywriting (too easy)
- Content scheduling and planning (voice)
- Media Kits/guidelines prep
- Media monitoring and reporting (agents)
- Market research (OpenAI deep research)
- Media relations (email)
- Social media management (zapier, make etc)
- Tracking industry trends
- Website content (automated blogs)

The good news: we now have more time to consider all the parts that make up PR.

Moving forward, with the time freed up by AI, we'll deliver better campaigns and, ultimately, build better brands.

What do you think about Strategy? and the automation of tasks in the AI era?
