Pricing decides your future.

For apps especially, the choice usually comes down to two paths: Ads or subscriptions.

Both work. Both fail. It depends on what you are building and who it is for.

1) Subscriptions reward depth. They work when your product delivers ongoing value and becomes part of someone’s workflow. Trust matters. Churn matters. The relationship is direct.

2) Ad supported models reward scale. They work when usage is frequent, marginal cost is low and attention is abundant. You trade focus for reach.

The mistake many founders make is copying what looks successful instead of what fits.

A subscription with weak retention is dead on arrival.

Ads without scale never get off the ground.

Pricing shapes behaviour.

It defines who shows up, how they use the product and what you are incentivised to build next.

With apps or software, ask yourself what kind of business you want to run.
